When pressed, she admits that she doesn't want him risking himself because she still needs him. "Grandad": Chilli spends most of the episode worrying about her father over-exerting himself while recovering from heartworm. Also interesting to note is that it's the first time we actually hear a character cry, rather than simply tear up. "Sleepytime": Bingo saying goodbye to her beloved Floppy and then finding Chilli as her sun, warming and loving her."Helicopter": While it's Played for Laughs, the idea that Winton's parents have broken up is quite sad."Army": You can't help but feel sorry for Jack as he laments how his condition keeps him from focusing and remembering things, and openly believes that there's "something wrong" with him.until he must go back to his "ship", which results in Bingo and Bluey (as island natives) giving him a warm yet painful farewell (all in the name of a good play-pretend, of course!). "Rug Island" starts off as usual involving Bandit somehow roped into another one his daughters' games."Squash": Uncle Stripe has never managed to win against Bandit in the eponymous game, and looks ready to give up entirely after his latest defeat. They eventually fully reconcile after Bandit helps Bingo with the Rainbow Car game and Bingo calls him “the best dad in the world”, with both kids agreeing. She then decides to let him dump her drawings in the recycling to their mutual agreement, saying she can “draw another one”. He then answers her question about putting the drawings in the “stinky dump” by saying he was actually going to put them in the recycling dump so it’ll get mushed up into new paper for another kid to draw and so on. He doesn’t believe so either and says he frankly doesn’t know everything like he said earlier in the episode. Bluey then says she doesn’t believe he’s “the best dad in the world”.

It’s thankfully made a lot better after he stops himself from throwing away her work and apologises to her and says they can keep the drawings. What truly sticks the knife in the heart is when Bingo calls her father out on this after seeing Bluey cry at this revelation, calling him a “baddie” and the look on Bandit’s face, a feeling of remorse and regret, is utterly heartbreaking, nearly destroying his loving family relationship with his daughters. Bluey feels so betrayed and hurt by this, she feels like her father doesn’t even love her since he was throwing a self-portrait of herself away. He points out gently she does a lot of drawings, given she views them being on the fridge as an honour, while Bluey feels like Bandit didn’t truly value her work after all in this situation. He panics when some of the drawing paper slips out of the box he was gonna dump and Bluey is horrified.

So it’s made worse when Bandit didn’t let them know about this earlier, probably out of fear of their inevitable reactions.

  • What makes this scene so much sadder is that Bluey and Bingo both look up to their father as the “goodie” (their hero) in their eyes, being so young and they were briefly talking about a superhero movie promotion that was on the side of a bus earlier, adding to the later scene.
  • It even causes Bingo to remark that he's "throwing away Bluey".
